Youth Honors Chorus and Knights Music Mentors

 

Fall 2023 Theme: Festive Christmas

The SMR Youth Honors Chorus and Knights Music Mentors is open to all talented singers and instrumentalists in 5-8th grades. Our program is in its 13th year and is directed by SMR Choral Director, Mrs. Kim Norris and Dr. Chris Pearlberg.

Students from public, private and home school communities are welcome to participate. 

Mrs. Rebecca Bowser and Mrs. Lynn Hudak are our special co-directors for the program!

Youth Honors Chorus: This program is open to talented singers in 5-8th grade who currently participate in the chorus at their school. It is led by SMR Choral Director, Mrs. Kim Norris. 

Knights Music Mentors: This program is open to students in 5-8th grade who currently participate in Band/Orchestra at their school or lessons outside of school. It is led by SMR Director of Instrumental Music, Dr. Chris Pearlberg with help from SMR instrumental music students.

Both groups will perform a concert together on December 1 on the SMR Campus!

Rehearsal and performance dates:

• September 13 – First rehearsal

• September 20 – Registration closes and Parent Meeting

• September 27  

• October 11

• October 25

• November 8 – Rehearsal on stage

• November 29 – Tech Rehearsal on Stage

• December 1 – Christmas Concert

• December 10 – State House Performance (Optional)

All rehearsals are on the St. Mary's Ryken campus from 4-6 p.m.

Students may not miss more than one rehearsal and should be in good standing at school. There is a $60 registration fee. An email with additional rehearsal information will be sent prior to rehearsals.
