Transportation

St. Mary's Ryken students come from Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George's, St. Mary's and King George counties. 

Important Details about Transportation:

  • The average roundtrip transportation fee for students who live outside of St. Mary's County is $3,500 per year. The fee can be paid in full or in 10 monthly installments.
  • A late bus (activity bus) is available for students who reside outside of St. Mary's County and have registered with Dinks Transportation. It departs from the St. Mary's Ryken campus at 5:45 p.m. every school day when athletic practices or activities are in progress.
  • Students will be required to show their ID when boarding the late bus.
  • The Late/Activity bus transportation fee is included with round-trip registration only.  
  • Students may sign up for transportation for the school year or a semester.

Late Bus Routes - 26'-27' NEW Updated Stops and Times *PLEASE NOTE

Please note: The late bus is only for out-of-county students that have registered for bus services with Dinks Transportation.  Students must show their ID in order to ride the late bus.

Students who stay after to ride the late bus must be with a faculty/staff member, coach, sponsor, or moderator and under adult supervision at all times while on campus. 

There is no late bus on early dismissal days. Activity buses may be scheduled on early dismissal days by the Athletic Department for sports and theatre practices and tutoring. Permission must be obtained from Dean of Students for all other after school activities on early dismissal days. Routes are subject to adjustments.

Carpooling

Current families have the option to communicate with other SMR families within a certain range of your home address within the Veracross Parent Carpool/Household Directory. Contact information for families who have opted into the directory will be accessible and you may reach out to them to arrange carpool options for students.
