St. Mary's County transportation and out of county transportation services will operate in the Hybrid Learning.

UPDATE! Letter from the Department of Public Works to St. Mary's County Families

Parents of students not residing in St. Mary's County who have utilized St. Mary’s County transportation and parents of students who have utilized Compton bus services, please contact Sharon Mattingly at sharon.mattingly@smrhs.org.

Self transportation is strongly encouraged. In the event bus transportation is required, appropriate distances must be maintained between passengers.  This includes one passenger per seat. Siblings will sit together. Proper cleaning will occur after each transport session.

Proper Bus Protocol Includes: 

  • Students should maintain social distance when boarding a school bus.

  • Students must wear face masks on the bus at all times.

  • Students will fill seats from rear to front.

  • Students must use hand sanitizer when boarding the bus.

  • Drivers will clean and sanitize buses between routes. 

  • Drivers will maintain logs for contact-tracing using procedures.

  • Procedures may require extra time at bus stops.

Parent Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

AM student drop off:

Parents will enter campus and drop students off in row 4 and row 5 of the main parking area located on upper campus (Donnie Williams Center and Stadium). No student drop off traffic is permitted to lower campus from 7:50 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. daily.

PM student pick up:

Parents will enter campus and pick up students in row 5 and row 6 of the main parking area located on upper campus (Donnie Williams Center and Stadium). Please park in a vacant parking spot as you wait for your student to arrive. No student pick up traffic is permitted to lower campus from 7:50 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. daily.

PM Staggered Dismissal:

Students will remain in their assigned cohort at the end of day until released by intercom. 

Cohorts will be individually released by an announcement over the intercom one cohort at a time. Upon release, all students in the cohort will go directly to their bus or departure point from campus.
