Where Love Leaves No One Behind

The Caritas Resource Center is located on the St. Mary’s Ryken campus and serves as a vital support system for individuals and families transitioning from homelessness to housing within the community. The CRC offers a range of essential items, from furniture to clothing, and maintains ongoing contact to foster a sense of mutual kinship.

Additionally, the center assists those seeking wellness in addiction rehabilitation care, offering necessities like clothing and toiletries, along with emotional support through cards and notes.

Furthermore, the CRC supports the St. Mary’s Detention Center Re-Entry Program, helping former inmates obtain essential documents and guiding them toward employment opportunities.

The center also distributes food items through a mobile pantry, prepares hot meals for the homeless, provides tutoring services, and offers support to other local organizations, emphasizing the importance of mutual kinship and community assistance in fostering a healthy lifestyle for all.

What We Do

Furniture

We receive donations of furniture and household items and then deliver them to those moving from homelessness to housing within our community.

Clothing

We provide formerly and currently homeless individuals with necessities of daily life such as shoes, undershirts, tee-shirts, pants, and formal wear.

Food

We distribute non-perishable food items door-to-door and provide hot meals at designated locations via our mobile kitchen.

Tutoring

Through a partnership with Building Bridges, SMR students provide scholastic aid to Pre-K through 12th-grade students in our local community.

Support

We supply currently homeless individuals with items such as tents, hand warmers, and toiletries to comfort their current living conditions.

Friendship

Most importantly, we provide engagement within all of our community via conversation and connection.
