Brent Gordon Swim Coach

St. Mary's Ryken is thrilled to welcome Brent Gordon to the St. Mary's Ryken community as the new head swim coach. Coach Gordon has extensive coaching and swimming experience from the local Southern Maryland and Knoxville, Tennessee areas.

Coach Gordon has vast experience and passion for the sport of swimming. "I am confident that he will build a reputable program at St. Mary's Ryken and promote the sport throughout the Southern Maryland community," said Athletic Director, Duane Atherton.

Most recently Coach Gordon coached swimmers in the 10-18 age range at the Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club. He was responsible for the training program and athletes consistently made improvements in times throughout his tenure.  Coach Gordon also coached at the Great Mills Aquatic Club where he developed a training program, and instructed and mentored children and young adults.  He also coached the first swim team at Great Mills High School in 2004. While there, he produced a state champion and several top 8 finalists.

"My immediate goal is to build a cohesive team with each athlete focused on providing support, encouragement and drive to their fellow teammates," said Coach Gordon. "Our goal will be to help each athlete realize their full potential and we hope to see every swimmer drop times and bring the level of competition up across the board."

"I’m looking forward to seeing each of the swimmers knock down barriers, reach new personal best and enjoy the time spent with their teammates," Coach Gordon continued.
