12 More Student-Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

Earlier this month, St. Mary's Ryken recognized 12 student athletes who will continue to play their sport at the collegiate level. Congratulations to the following students:

Emma Fisher committed to play lacrosse for NCAA Division III Salisbury University.  Emma has earned four letters in lacrosse counting her senior season and three varsity letters in field hockey. Her sophomore year she was awarded Honorable Mention All WCAC in Field Hockey. Her junior year she earned the Coaches Award for field hockey and was named first Team All-WCAC. 

She has been on the Principal's List honor roll for 13 quarters and the President's List honor roll once.

Riley Love has committed to play lacrosse for NCAA Division III Marymount University.  Riley has earned three varsity letters in lacrosse and two varsity letters in volleyball.  Her junior year she made Honorable Mention All-County and third Team All-WCAC in Lacrosse.  Her senior year in volleyball she earned the Team MVP Award and was named second team All-WCAC.

She has been a member of the Principals List nine times and President's List four times.

Lauren Standish has committed to play lacrosse at Shenandoah University, another NCAA Division III school. She has been on the Principals List Honor Roll for seven quarters and on the Presidents List Honor Roll for three quarters.

Alex Wettengel has committed to play Lacrosse at Christopher Newport University, a NCAA Division III school. Alex is a four-year letter winner in lacrosse counting this season and earned four varsity letters in tennis. As a junior she was named the Coaches Award winner in Tennis and was named third Team All-WCAC in Lacrosse.

Alex is a part of the Visual Arts Scholars Program and has been on the President's List Honor Roll all 15 quarters at SMR.

Ethan Gray has committed to play baseball at St. Mary's College of Maryland, a NCAA Division III school.  He is a two-year letter winner in baseball including his ongoing season.

He has been on the Presidents List honor roll all 15 quarters.

Austin Watts committed to play baseball at Brunswick Community College. He is a three-year letter winner in baseball including his senior season. As a junior he was named second Team All-WCAC.

Gunnar Brodfuehrer has committed to play Lacrosse at the United States Coast Guard Academy, a NCAA Division III school. He has earned three letters in lacrosse counting the current season, four letters in wrestling and two in cross country. In wrestling he finished second at the WCAC Championship his sophomore year and was named Honorable Mention All-County.  He finished third at WCAC Championship his junior year and was named Honorable Mention All-County. As a senior he was runner up at the WCAC meet. In Lacrosse he was named Honorable Mention all WCAC his junior year.

He has been on the President's List honor roll all 15 quarters at SMR.

Alex Figueiras has committed to play Lacrosse at Chatham University, a NCAA Division III school.  He is a four year letter winner in wrestling, and three year letter winner in lacrosse counting his senior year.  His freshman year and he was named most promising wrestler for SMR and was Honorable Mention all-county

His sophomore years he was again named most promising wrestler after winning the WCAC Championship and being named first team all county. He was also named most promising lacrosse player His sophomore year. 

His junior season he won the WCAC title was named first team All County and qualified for National Preps by finishing fifth at the state tournament.  He was also named Honorable Mention All-Met.

His senior year in wrestling he won his third consecutive WCAC Title was named first team All County qualified for National Preps by placing fourth at the State Meet.

He has been on the Principal's List Honor Roll for two quarters and on the President's List Honor roll for 13 quarters.

Robert (Robby) Guy has committed to playing lacrosse at Marietta College, a NCAA Division III. He is a two year letter winner in football and is lettering his senior season in lacrosse.

He made the Principals List honor roll seven quarters and the President's list Honor roll once.

Sarah Skane has committed to running cross country at York College, a NCAA Division III school. She is a four-year letter winner in cross country.  As a freshman she was named Most Promising Cross Country runner. As a sophomore she received the Coaches Award, as a junior she finished 15^th in the state meet and was named team MVP. As a senior she captained the team and was again named the Coaches Award winner.

She made the Principals list honor roll three quarters and the President's list honor roll 12 times.

Chris Weaver has committed to playing basketball at Washington College, a NCAA Division III.  He earned two varsity letters in basketball at SMR.

He made the Principals List Honor roll twice at SMR.

JaMarcus Holt has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend NCAA Division II Frostburg State University. He is a three year letter winner in football.  His junior year he was first team all county as a defensive lineman. As a senior, he was first team All-WCAC and first team all County.

He was named to the Principal's List honor roll three times at SMR.

Congratulations to these twelve college commits from St. Mary's Ryken High School. From the class of 2019, the total number of committed seniors is now 28.
