Visual Arts at St. Mary's Ryken
At St. Mary’s Ryken, the Visual Arts Department inspires students to see the world with imagination, discipline, and purpose. Rooted in our Xaverian values and guided by professional artists and educators, our program challenges students to develop their individual artistic voices while mastering traditional and contemporary techniques.

A Place to Discover, Create, and Thrive
Whether students are beginners or experienced artists, they find a welcoming space to explore drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, digital art, and mixed media. Our curriculum is designed to build foundational skills and offer advanced opportunities through portfolio development, AP Studio Art, and independent study.

Beyond the Classroom
Our Visual Arts students are encouraged to use their talents to serve and inspire others—designing school branding, supporting community initiatives, and pursuing internships in creative fields. Many of our graduates go on to study art, design, architecture, and related majors at top colleges and universities.
