The St. Mary’s Ryken Chorus professionally recorded their performances of the songs, “Blessings” and “Oceans.” These songs became very special and popular during many SMR events including all-school and Baccalaureate Masses. Now, they serve as a special gift for everyone in our community to enjoy.

To the students of St. Mary’s Ryken High School –

Remember when times get hard and your plans don’t work out the way you had envisioned or planned on that Christ is always there for you. Don’t forget to pray to him for direction, courage and fortitude.

These songs were chosen and are loved by me, especially because they hold such truth. “Blessings” came at a time when my oldest daughter’s dreams were shattered. She was physically as well as mentally broken down. She thought at the time her future was not going to go as planned.

Remember, turn to God instead of blaming him. Ask him to guide you through the storm. My daughter was resilient and with a lot of prayer and support from her family and friends, she turned a potentially life altering experience into a remarkable comeback. The SMR community also supported her during this time by giving her a purpose. It allowed her time to heal and refocus. For this our family is truly and forever grateful.

Music Heals and it moves us, it helps us weather the storm. It teaches and reassures us. I hope this music will inspire you!
