Welcome

At St. Mary's Ryken, an appreciation of the arts is critical to a well-rounded education. We promote student talent and leadership through a range of classes and clubs that help foster an understanding of the arts. The Fine Arts department provides the student with a better understanding of the visual and performing arts through academic study and performance. Intensive artistic training and performance opportunities are available to students who wish to focus and hone their gifts. Students are guided by faculty who are accomplished, practicing professionals in their own field.

The Fine Arts Department’s mission is to create a lifelong appreciation and involvement in the visual and performing arts by providing experiences, study and inspiration to our students. As students learn to convey human expression in its many artistic forms, they will come to a greater understanding of the skill and craft necessary to create and appreciate the impact art can have on their world. We offer a variety of courses in this department with the hope that the spark of creativity will come alive in each student.
