The cost is $30 per plate. The sample design is shown above—please note that “XS” stands for Xaverian School.

How to Order:

1. Complete the SMR License Plate Application 
2. Include a $30 check made payable to: “Motor Vehicle Administration”
3. Submit your application and check to Betsy Haley at SMR (either drop off in person or you can mail it to St. Mary's Ryken, 22600 Camp Calvert Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650, Attn: Betsy Haley).

Once we have collected 25 applications, the first set of tags will be produced and distributed. New tags will be mailed directly to you from the MVA.
 
Important note: Applying for the SMR license plate does not change your current registration period or fees. You will continue to renew your registration with the MVA every one or two years as usual. If you have any questions, please email Shameka Dease at sdease@mdot.maryland.gov.
