"Based on tax law, can I use my 529 Plan to pay SMR tuition?"
Yes! Effective January 1, 2018, the tax law allows distribution of up to $10,000 per beneficiary (student) for tuition expenses for private or religious secondary schools (K-12) during a tax year. The 529 account owner can now withdraw up to $10,000 for each beneficiary once per calendar year. For further guidance, please contact your tax preparer or broker.
Flexible payment plans are available. For additional questions regarding tuition, please contact the Admissions Office at 301-373-4183 or 301-373-4184.
FACTS Payment Plans
FACTS is the tuition payment plan system used by St. Mary's Ryken. Parents register at the FACTS website to pay by credit card or automatic bank draft. A variety of plans are available to pay tuition in bi-weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, semi-annual and annual increments.
The institution ID is 19941
Please Note: Each school has a separate FACTS account and these cannot be combined. If you are already using FACTS for another school, such as a middle school, you must register again for SMR.
