Youth Honors Chorus
The SMR Youth Honors Chorus is open to all talented singers in rising grades 5-9. The program enters its 10th anniversary and is directed by SMR Choral Director, Mrs. Kim Norris and Mr. Jonathan Hellerman.
Program and rehearsals timeline is as follows:
- Chorus Practices:
All practices are from 4 – 6 p.m. outside of Romuald Hall.
June 9 - dress Rehearsal
June 17 - Youth Honors Chorus Concert
June 18 - Rain Date
Students may not miss more than two rehearsals and should be in good standing at school. There is a $25/student registration fee. An email with additional rehearsal information will be sent home a few days prior to rehearsals.
Registration closes on April 18.
St. Mary’s Ryken High School follows the health and safety guidelines provided by Governor Hogan and the St. Mary's County Health Department including cleaning and sanitation, social distancing, mask-wearing and limiting group sizes. The safety of our students and faculty is our top priority.
For Youth Honors Chorus, rehearsals will be held outside. In the event of inclement weather, rehearsal may be moved to Zoom or rescheduled. All parents/guardians will be notified via text message and email as soon as possible.
All attendees must wear a face covering, over the nose and under the mouth, during rehearsals, at drop-off and pick-up and during the concert.
Students should bring a water bottle as no access to water fountains will be provided.
During drop-off, students will complete a health screening questionnaire.
Additional guidance may be communicated with families as it becomes available.
