Our Campus

Located in the heart of Leonardtown, Maryland, SMR is approximately 55 miles southeast of Washington, D.C. The 87-acre, waterfront, and 100% wireless campus overlooks Breton Bay and comprises seven buildings.

Our college-like campus setting promotes maturity and independence and prepares students for life after high school. Various spaces for personal reflection and study are located on campus, both indoors and outdoors.

The Donnie Williams Center opened in the summer of 2019 and provides 48,000 square feet of modern, spacious facilities for many types of school, spiritual, community and sporting events.

The Chapel of Charity is located in Rupert Hall and is the location where daily Mass is celebrated every school day. The Chapel was beautifully renovated in 2024.

The Media Center offers students a space to work on projects, enjoy quiet time, work on group assignments and participate in study groups. In addition to the thousands of print materials available for checkout in the Media Center, digital materials are available for both academic and personal reading through our Overdrive digital library. Our partnership with the St. Mary’s County Public Library System provides all SMR students, regardless of their county of residence, with access to all of the print and digital resources in public libraries throughout the state.

SMR athletic facilities include a state-of-the-art, 1,000-seat outdoor sports stadium with a professional-level, NFL-grade turf field (new in 2025!) and a six-lane track, locker rooms, weight room and team rooms.

The Campus Café offers daily full-service dining options, including hot breakfast and lunch. A professional chef and his team prepare fresh, healthy choices.

The Campus Store sells uniform polo shirts, SMR ties, gym uniforms, spirit wear, school supplies and snacks. The store is open each school day.
