St. Mary’s Ryken is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. William (Will) Bolin as the new Director of Campus Ministry. A dedicated theology teacher and passionate Catholic educator, Mr. Bolin brings over eight years of ministry and teaching experience to the role.

Will Bolin 2024-25

Mr. Bolin has served the SMR community since 2022 as a theology teacher and coach, earning recognition as the Archdiocese of Washington’s Novice Teacher of the Year in 2024. He teaches both introductory and upper-level theology courses, leads student retreats, and serves on the Faculty Advisory Council.

Before joining St. Mary’s Ryken, Mr. Bolin served for three years as the Catholic Campus Minister at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he revitalized the ministry, increasing student engagement nearly sixfold. He launched a spiritual direction program, directed RCIA, mentored student leaders, and expanded the ministry’s fundraising and outreach efforts. His strong leadership, pastoral care, and commitment to relationship-building left a lasting impact on the college community.

Mr. Bolin’s education includes graduate theology studies in Rome and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology from St. Joseph’s College of Maine. He is currently pursuing his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Mary. He also served as a seminarian in the Archdiocese of Washington, where he built meaningful connections with clergy and communities locally and abroad.

“St. Mary’s Ryken has become my home, and I am honored to serve our school community in this new role,” said Mr. Bolin. “Campus Ministry is a passion of mine, and I hope to bring zeal, vision, and direction to our campus ministry program.”

In his new role, Mr. Bolin will lead student retreats, all-school liturgies, daily Mass, service projects, the spiritual direction program, and community outreach. He will also serve as a spiritual mentor and support for students, faculty, and staff across campus.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Bolin to this new leadership role in our community.
