For 2nd Year, St. Mary’s Ryken Awarded College Board’s Platinum Distinction for AP Excellence!

For the second year in a row, St. Mary’s Ryken has earned the College Board’s highest recognition for outstanding faculty and student performance in the Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Roll.

“Earning the College Board’s Platinum Distinction again reflects the incredible dedication of our students and faculty to pursue rigorous learning with passion and purpose," said Principal Tom Campbell. "It’s a testament to the strength of our AP program and the culture of academic excellence at St. Mary’s Ryken.”

Advanced Placement (AP) coursework prepares students for college rigor, offers opportunities to earn college credits in high school, and can significantly reduce college expenses while boosting success.

“We are honored to be among the few schools in the U.S. and Canada to receive the Platinum Honor, reaffirming that an SMR education is a wise investment in a child’s future success,” said President Rick Wood.”The average 3-credit course at a four-year college is $4,000. Access to our AP program translates into college savings and advanced access to college courses.”

The Class of 2025's AP achievements include:

  • 82% of Class of 2025 graduates took at least one AP exam during high school.
  • 62% of Class of 2025 graduates scored 3 or higher on at least one AP exam during high school.
  • 32% of the Class of 2025 graduates took 5 or more AP exams
