Katie O’Shields Performs as part of Sarah Brightman’s World Tour

In January, junior Katie O’Shields performed at the Hippodrome Performing Arts Center in Baltimore as part of the choir for the international soprano star, Sarah Brightman, during her Hymn World Tour. 

"Being selected to sing with Sarah Brightman was an honor and I felt very fortunate to have the opportunity to perform with someone so accomplished," said Katie.  "I learned how to stay calm under pressure and how to conduct myself in a professional environment."

The SMR Fine Arts teachers helped Katie prepare for the performance by learning how to sight read music which was a requirement for the ensemble choir members. "I am grateful for having such supportive teachers guiding and mentoring me throughout my years at SMR," said Katie.

In May, Katie will be attending the second round of the CS Music Vocal Competition in Chicago.
