Mrs. Loretta Baylor Selected as Representative for MSCA

Loretta Baylor, Freshman Class Counselor

Mrs. Loretta Baylor has been appointed as the representative  for Independent/Private Schools for the Maryland School Counselor Association (MSCA). As a board member, Mrs. Baylor will act as a liaison, working on behalf of private school counselors statewide to provide resources, encourage MSCA membership and develop/implement professional development opportunities.

"I'm thrilled to take on this new role because it's a great opportunity to build relationships and collaborate with school counselors from other private schools statewide," said Mrs. Baylor. "Being the counseling liaison for hundreds of school counselors is a pretty big job, but I'm ready for the challenge. Not only do I see this as a great opportunity for me, but for my peers in the counseling department. Being a voice for them at conferences and meetings and creating a strong platform for private school counselors will give me a sense of pride. The Professional School Counseling role is evolutionary, and it's important for us to be aware of the recent trends in counseling.  As a board member, I have direct access to the latest information, resources and some of the most experienced counseling professionals in the field."
