About the Position

St. Mary’s Ryken High School seeks a collaborative, student-centered Part-Time Resource Specialist to support students with learning differences in achieving success within a rigorous college-preparatory environment. Working closely with the Director of Resources, the Resource Specialist partners with students, families, and faculty to provide individualized academic support, foster executive functioning skills, and ensure equitable access to curriculum and learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Learning Plans based on psycho-educational evaluations and other assessment data
  • Support student growth in executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, study strategies, and self-advocacy
  • Partner closely with faculty and families to ensure students have full access to curriculum and classroom expectations
  • Provide small-group instruction, academic support, and extended-time assessment administration
  • Work daily with small groups of students to support organization, homework completion, and study skills
  • Coordinate and participate in parent-teacher conferences and meetings with outside professionals as appropriate
  • Prepare quarterly progress reports for students receiving support services
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication related to student progress and accommodations
  • Participate actively in the broader school community and contribute to the mission and values of St. Mary’s Ryken High School

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience supporting students with learning differences in a rigorous educational setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, faculty, and administrators
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience working in a college-preparatory or independent school setting
  • Knowledge of executive functioning coaching strategies and learning support best practices
  • Familiarity with psycho-educational assessments and accommodation planning
  • Experience facilitating small-group instruction and intervention support
