Located in the heart of Leonardtown, Maryland, SMR is approximately 55 miles southeast of Washington, D.C. The 87-acre, waterfront campus overlooks Breton Bay and comprises seven buildings.

All visitors must report to the Attendance Office in Paschal Hall as soon as they arrive. Approved visitors will be given a visitor's badge which will include their name, the date of the visit, the faculty/staff member who the visitor will be with on campus and/or the destination of the visitor.  All visitors must wear this identification while on campus.

The campus store sells SMR spirit wear, uniform polo shirts, the SMR Knight tie, 1/4 zip uniform sweatshirts, and gym uniforms. The store is located on the first floor of the Donnie Williams Center.

During the school year, the store hours are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:00–4:00 p.m.

The Chapel of Charity is the location where daily Mass is celebrated every school day. The Chapel was beautifully renovated in 2024.
 
The renovations pay homage to the enduring legacies of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and the Xaverian Brothers, offering a welcoming and spiritual environment for daily Mass, spiritual direction, and confessions, and ensuring the sacristy is more serviceable.

The Caritas Resource Center serves as a vital support system for individuals and families transitioning from homelessness to housing within the community. The CRC offers a range of essential items, from furniture to clothing, and maintains ongoing contact to foster a sense of mutual kinship.

The center also distributes food items through a mobile pantry, prepares hot meals for the homeless, provides tutoring services, and offers support to other local organizations, emphasizing the importance of mutual kinship and community assistance in fostering a healthy lifestyle for all.

Joe Vavrus Sailing Center at St. Mary's Ryken

The Joe Vavrus Sailing Center is named in honor of Deacon Joe Vavrus P '17, '20, '22, a longtime sailing coach at SMR. The facility features both permanent and floating docks, a boathouse, and serves as the home of the SMR sailing fleet, as well as the team’s primary practice site.

Science classes also utilize this area for environmentally related projects.
