International Program
St. Mary's Ryken has proudly hosted more than 35 international students from countries such as Canada, Italy, England, France, Germany, Romania, Serbia, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey. Several of our international graduates have gone on to American colleges and universities. We enjoy the cultural diversity the international students bring to our community and we look forward to hosting other students from countries around the globe.
HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION
International students interested in attending St. Mary's Ryken should submit the following items:
1. Completed Application for Admission
2. Non-refundable application fee of $40 (U.S. currency)
3. Official transcript with English translations
4. Two teacher recommendations (in English)

6. Completed health form and immunization record
7. TOEFL or SLEP test preferred. Students must demonstrate some knowledge of English. Students will be tested on arrival before placement into classes.
If a student is offered admission and chooses to enroll, a $2,000 non-refundable deposit is required. Once the deposit is received, St. Mary's Ryken will issue an I-20 form in order for the student to obtain a F-1 visa from their home country. If the student is denied a visa, the deposit will be refunded.

Tuition for the 2010-11 academic year: $10,700
Service fees: $2,800
ESL Program: $1,000
Tuition and fees must be paid in full by July 1st.
Deposits and tuition payments made be made by credit card or by wiring the money to St. Mary's Ryken.
ENGLISH PROGRAM
All international students are tested at the beginning of each year to determine their placement in English and math classes. Enrolled international students who need to improve their English skills for academic purposes will be placed in our English as a Second Language (ESL) program until they reach a desired proficiency level. The program includes a basic ESOL course as well as an advanced English course which helps international students prepare for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam. International student will be enrolled in traditional English literature and composition courses while taking ESOL courses. The ESOL and advanced English courses count as foreign language credits.
