Retreats

Annual spiritual retreats provide students with the opportunity to take time out and evaluate the faith aspects of their lives and to renew their sense of the centrality of God in all they do.

Retreats are required for freshmen, sophomores and juniors and are offered to seniors.

Seniors comment that retreat was the most memorable part of their St. Mary's Ryken experience! Retreats are an essential part of the spiritual growth of an St. Mary's Ryken student.

The freshman class attends a half-day retreat at Camp Maria with the theme of “Know Yourself”.  The retreatants are also introduced the Xaverian values and spirituality.  The sophomore retreat is an overnight at Camp Maria which focuses on “Myself & Others”.  Juniors attend an overnight retreat at Loyola Retreat House in Faulkner, MD focusing on their “God-Given Gifts and Talents”.  The Senior Retreat is an optional 3-day, 2 night retreat focused on “God’s Friendship”.
