Merit Scholarships

Requirements for the scholarships listed below are in Scholarship Information and Instructions.

In addition to the need-based aid through the TADS and PSAS programs, St. Mary's Ryken offers merit scholarships. The deadline to apply for the following is February 1, 2013 for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Submit Scholarship Application

     Send scholarship essays as an attachment to: admissions@smrhs.org

  • Academic: Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, test scores, teacher recommendations and extracurricular achievement. No additional application is required.

  • Fine Arts Scholarships: Incoming freshmen with a B (85%/3.0) average may compete for scholarships in the areas of art, dance, instrumental and vocal music. Awards are based on auditions.

  • Leadership Scholarships: This scholarship is for incoming freshmen who demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities in their school or community. Awards are based on an oral presentation and letter of recommendation.

  • Service Scholarship:Incoming freshmen who are active in service to their school, parish or community. Award based on essay and community service work. Applicants awarded this scholarship will be required to work with Campus Ministry on service opportunities already in place and will work to create new service initiatives for students.
  • Laurie Collins Scholarship: This scholarship, in memory of Laurie Collins '92,  is designed to recognize incoming freshmen who, like Laurie, demonstrate a love of school, family and church. To apply, students must submit an essay describing ways they demonstrate love for family, school and church. 
  • Blaine Whorl Scholarship: This scholarship, in memory of Blaine Whorl ’02, recognizes students who share Blaine’s passion and interest in history and the community. To apply, students must submit an essay.

 

 Special Circumstance Grants

Application for Special Circumstances

  • Catholic School Employee Discount: This discount is given to parents upon submitting the special circumstances application to the Financial Aid Office, requesting Catholic School Employee discount and proving full-time employment in a Catholic school.
