Financial Aid

St. Mary’s Ryken offers payment plan options as well as two need-based financial aid programs: the Archdiocesan Financial Aid Program and St. Mary's Ryken's own program. Both programs are overseen by the Private School Aid Service (PSAS).

All students applying for financial aid, need to complete the PSAS online application.  The deadline to apply is December 4, 2009 for the 2010-2011 academic year

Application for Special Circumstances
 

In addition to the PSAS, St. Mary's Ryken offers tuition assistance and merit scholarships.  The deadline to apply for the following is December 15, 2009 for the 2010-2011 academic year.

 

Tuition Assistance Grants

  • Kenneth B. Duke, Jr., Scholarship: This scholarship, awarded to one incoming freshman annually, is in memory of Kenneth B. Duke, Jr., a 1939 graduate of St. Mary's Academy.
  • John D. Yamnicky, Sr., Scholarship: This scholarship, awarded annually to one incoming freshman, is in memory of John D. Yamnicky, Sr., a former member of the St. Mary's Ryken Board of Directors, who was a victim of the terrorist attack at the Pentagon on 9/11/01.

Merit Scholarships 

  • Academic: Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, test scores, teacher recommendations and extracurricular achievement. No additional application is required.

  • Fine Arts Scholarships: Incoming freshmen with a B (85%/3.0) average may compete for scholarships in the areas of art, dance, instrumental and vocal music. Awards are based on auditions.

  • Leadership Scholarship: This scholarship is for incoming freshmen who demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities in their school or community.

  • Laurie Collins Scholarship: This scholarship is in memory of one of St. Mary's Ryken graduates, Laurie Collins '92. It is designed to recognize incoming freshmen who, like Laurie, demonstrate a love of school, family and church.


 

Special Circumstance Grants:

  • Catholic School Employee Discount: This discount is given to parents upon submitting the special circumstances application to the Financial Aid Office, requesting Catholic School Employee discount and proving full-time employment in a Catholic school.
