Content: For many centuries Euclidean Geometry was the only geometry that existed. Not that long ago; however, people began to think about our world very differently. Joseph N. Portney began to think, “What if the earth were…” and the odd shaped models shown on the posters across the side of the room evolved. Chose one of the earthshapes and describe what this world might be like. Write at least two paragraphs with at least three sentences in each. Elaborate thoroughly on TWO questions that are asked below. Describe the topic you choose in detail. Explain in a general way why you came up with your answers. Give reasons for your comments.

1. What would gravity be like?
2. What kind of maps might be needed?
3. How would day and night differ throughout the planet?
4. How would the seasons be affected?
5. How would temperatures differ throughout the planet?
6. What would the earth look like from the moon? Describe the “phases” of the earth.
7. What would travel be like?
