Music Appreciation
Music Power Point Slideshows: You will find listed below your music choices for the power point project. Again, just to clear up any confusion, you will pick one piece from the list of ten and arrange a slide show of appropriate images to accompany the music. These images must compliment the music and have a specific, easily observable theme which you will derive from listening to the piece of music. Strive to have the images change with the music so that the two work together to create an interesting experience for the listener/viewer. Each image should last no more than ten seconds (give or take). It does not have to be exactly ten seconds just as long as we aren't staring at the same image for five minutes. All slide shows must last for the duration of the entire piece of music. Be as creative as possible. If the music makes you think a traffic jam find images of that and arrange them musically. If the music makes you think of flying space monkeys from the planet Zoltar attacking Earth with ray guns thinking our planet is defenseless only to find out we have Will Smith and Arnold Schwarzenegger on our side, that will be the coolest slide show ever and you will get an A!!! (maybe) It's up to you but it has to make sense with the music! Do not use the same idea as Mr. Nelson's examples (even though they're awesome). Come up with your own! Do not use images which may be deemed inappropriate unless you want a zero. Ask Mr. Nelson if: you have an image which you are unsure of, if you are using software other than Microsoft Powerpoint, if you are unable to download your music due to dial up or slow internet speed. If you're having trouble downloading your music please bring in a blank CD for Mr. Nelson to make copies for you. Here are the selections. I have purposely left out the titles so as not to influence your ideas. Some stipulations occur for select recordings and must be taken into account. These are stated clearly next to the recording. GOOD LUCK! Number Three (No Dinosaurs please! Sorry) Number Five (No Sugar Plum Fairies! Sorry, again.) Number Six (No Olympics) Number Seven (Yoda says, "Use pictures from Star Wars will you not!")
