This is Ms. Marina Sanchez’s third year teaching at St. Mary’s Ryken High School. Ms. Sanchez teaches Spanish III and AP Spanish Language, as well as being the school’s current Drama Director. Studying in Spain for one year, as well as majoring in Spanish at St. Mary’s College, provided Ms. Sanchez authentic learning experiences with the language, making her an ideal candidate to teach two of our most advance Spanish courses. Being an SMR graduate herself, Ms. Sanchez is very familiar with the school’s philosophy and goals and aims to provide her students with the same rewarding experience she had less than ten years ago.
Each year, Ms. Sanchez takes on new endeavors in the SMR community, such as heading up the Pep and Spirit Committee, advising Freshman, leading retreats, raising money for the yearly walk for Cystic Fibrosis in Waldorf and directing both the Fall Drama and Spring Musical. She aims to be an active member of our community, something we ask of both our students and faculty.
