Mr. Shaw has been teaching at St. Mary’s Ryken for five years. His display of leadership in the Science Department has rooted him well within the St. Mary’s Ryken community. Mr. Shaw was instrumental in creating an Advanced Placement Environmental Science class and became a pivotal member of the “Physics First” science curriculum. He is actively involved in the Faculty Faith Formation, Campus Religious Life, School Council and an energetic participant in the retreat programs at SMR.
Being in charge of the recycling program at the school, the moderator of Envirothon – an environmental competition between schools, and taking graduate classes at the College of Notre Dame keep Mr. Shaw on the go in his professional life. As the father of two beautiful girls and a boy, he enjoys coaching his children’s team sports and playing in faculty/student basketball games in his spare time.
Mr. Shaw earned his BA degree from St. Mary’s College. He and his wife, Denise, have lived in St. Mary’s County most of their lives. They reside in Leonardtown.
