How to Apply

Students attending a Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of Washington:

• Complete and return an application for admission with the $30 application fee to the Admissions Office.

• Complete an Archdiocesan Choice Form provided by the elementary school. By selecting St. Mary's Ryken and submitting this to your principal, your school records, test scores and teacher recommendations will be forwarded to St. Mary's Ryken.
• Take the Admissions Test. Students must pre-register for this test at least five days in advance.

Students attending a public or non-Catholic private school:

• Complete and return an application for admission with the $30 application fee to the Admissions Office.

• Request an unofficial transcript from your current school. It must include grades and test information from the previous two years.
  Request for Records Form
• Submit 2 teacher recommendation forms.
  Math Teacher Recommendation Form and Language Arts Teacher Recommendation Form
• Take the Admissions Test. Students must pre-register for this test at least five days in advance.

Students currently enrolled in another high school:

• Complete and return an application for admission with the $30 application fee.

• Request an unofficial transcript from your current school. It must include grades and test information from the previous two years.

• Submit 2 teacher recommendation forms.
  Math Teacher Recommendation Form and Language Arts Teacher Recommendation Form
• Schedule an interview with the Admissions Office.

International students:

  Math Teacher Recommendation Form and Language Arts Teacher Recommendation Form
• Take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).
• Submit a copy of a birth certificate, passport or visa.
• Submit immunization/health records.
• Submit an affidavit of support - a document that establishes a student's ability to pay the tuition.
