Academic Philosophy
St. Mary's Ryken strives to educate the whole student in accordance with our mission. The student body consists of 98% graduating seniors matriculating to higher education at the college or university level. The course offerings and classroom rigor are a hallmark of the academic program - all subject areas offer college preparatory and honors level coursework. Our seventeen Advanced Placement classes offer a college level study which may result in college credit. To aid students with learning differences, St. Mary's Ryken offers the Ryken Program.
St. Mary's Ryken's climate is characterized by respect and affirmation. Students respect their teachers as moral role models and the student-developed honor code reflects the ownership that the students take in the school's academic climate.
St. Mary's Ryken has a distinctive rotational schedule that offers time during the day for students to participate in clubs and other activities. The schedule lends itself to community building through interaction with faculty advisors and 100% club participation.
